Gates of the Guilin Empire
I have been running around Guilin over the Christmas Holiday season, and I maybe see one other foreigner per day max. This is quite remarkable as Guilin is a top tourist destination. One of the huge advantages of this is that as I entered the Solitary Mountain slash JingJiang Prince City I was given a private tour by my very own English Speaking Guide. The guide service is included with your entrance ticket purchase but normally hordes of people make it a twenty person plus group tour. But as all the other foreigners must be at home with their families, it became a private tour where he was available to show me all the secret photo spots and let me get whatever I wanted. Here I was able to position the light the way I wanted as well as have time to set up my tripod for low lighting.
