Walking on Rocks out into the Landscape
I unashamedly post process my photos. But a ton of other professional photographers talk smack about this and look down at it. Heck, most all photography competitions require that any submitted photograph be post process free. They treat it like Performance Enhancing Drugs. Why? My theory is that the old guard in photography doesn’t like it because it is easier than their previous methods.
It is NOT because things like this were impossible before computers. The above photo can easily be captured on film and printed like that in a dark room. While shooting, all you would have to do is pop on a Lee Coral Grad 6 Soft Graduated Coral Filter for the color and rubber band a black tissue paper with a hole cut in the very middle over it for the vignette. Heck, even without that, in a darkroom you could cross process your chemicals as well as burn in the vignette.
