Floating Down the Li River Next to a Boat
The best part about the Li River cruise that I took is that they started right at sunrise. It was like they had photographers in mind when they chose the time! I usually try to get my own boat so I can run around and do photographer things without getting in the way of anyone. I wasn’t that fortunate this time. Luckily though, I got paired with this really cool couple who didn’t mind me doing my thing. For this shot I held my D800E (without a waterproof dive cover) about an inch above the water outside the boat to get this unique angle. I would say "don't try this at home," but maybe instead I'll say "don't try this with a $6,000 camera...maybe your $800 backup camera would be a bit of a wiser choice for your first time."
