Sitting on the Edge of the Roof of my Hotel Overlooking Harbin
Every once in awhile I see articles pop up on CNN or BBC or wherever talking about the calming effects of looking at nature. I 100% agree. But when you live in a concrete jungle, it can be hard to “get away” or get back to nature. One of the most calming meditative places I like to go to is the rooftop of buildings. Being high above the city is calming and empowering. It always impresses me looking at it thinking what humans have been able to accomplish. Here I was feeling a little stressed out, so I headed up to the roof. You would think it would be freezing cold up here, with the outside temperature being in the -30’s, but actually it wasn’t too bad at all. All the heaters and generators were pumping out so much hot air that it was relatively tolerable.
