One more anecdote about this photos: When I took this pictures I had my camera set to record RAW + JPG. I processed both the JPG and the RAW. Why? Because I love to experiment to always test out which one is better. I loved the way the JPG looked; however, it wasn’t able to handle the extreme highlights of the sun bursting through the clouds in the top center. I needed the extra power of RAW to be able to handle that without getting completely blown out. But other than that, the JPG looks virtually identical to this. Is a little blow out in the highlights worth it to you to have your RAW files eat up tons of extra space on your memory card and computer while not being able to be recorded with your camera’s vivid and sharpness settings?
